Law enforcement organisations and their drones competed in Remeteszőlős at the Police Academy of the Police Education and Training Centre from September 16 to 17. Cloud for Intelligent Airplace Zrt. was also a professional partner of the event.
This year, for the second time after 2024, the Internal Affairs Drone Cup was held, with 28 teams participating. The teams competing in the cup fought for victory over two days, performing various skills and technical tasks, and operations. Out of the 15 teams that advanced after the qualifiers, the fight for the final victory was finally won by the team of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Police, with whom the Győr Regional Deployment Directorate’s XV Deployment Department and the National Protection Service unit shared the podium positions.
The award for the best drone pilot, presented by Sándor Pintér, Minister of the Interior, was received by the pilot of the third-placed National Defence Service.
The significance of the event was enhanced by the fact that, in addition to the police, speakers and interested parties from the fields of healthcare and public education also came to the professional exhibition organized in parallel with the cup, in which 400 professionals and another 300 high school students participated. Drones also shape the needs of the labor market, creating new labor demands in many areas. For students, visiting the cup also meant participating in an interactive career orientation demonstration by trying out the drone football and FPV drone simulators. In addition, valuable prizes were raffled off among the visitors. Both the size of the event and the huge number of interested parties show that drones open up new opportunities for career starters in several state tasks and in many market segments also.
The event – due to its nature and in accordance with EU and domestic legislation – requires thorough preparation and authorisation, in which our company, the Cloud for Intelligent Airplace Zrt. played a major role this year, providing high-level professional support to the event organizers, i.e., the Scientific Council of the Interior and the Digital Development Centre of Széchenyi István University.
